Do Web-Site PopUps Help Make Sales?

Do Web-Site PopUps Help Make Sales?

Let’s imagine that you have decided to learn more about something so you do a search online. You pick out one of the websites chosen for you by Google and visit its link. Then, when the page finishes loading, surprise! Instead of viewing the page that is supposed to have the content you need, you are forced to cope with a pop up. The pop up banner is an annoying advertising campaign and no matter how many times you try to close it, it won’t go away–unless you give it your e-mail address. Eventually you are so annoyed that you just close down your browser completely. That website owner’s techniques haven’t gotten the best of you!

There is a good reason that many people loathe pop ups. They are truly annoying. They intrude on what you happen to be trying to do. If they play audio they might get you in trouble with your workplace (or anybody else in the room). They make extravagant claims. If you would like to close them you often have to give up your personal information. Sometimes they will install cookies or other malware on your hard disk. There are very few individuals who actually enjoy being confronted by these irritating things and yet, so many Internet Marketers use them. Why is this?

The sad fact is that IMers continue using pop-up ads because they actually work. They get the attention of the person. They help marketers make e-mail marketing directories. It’s been proven again and again that pop up ads get more opt ins than a normal opt in box put into the sidebar or even into the body of a web page. They have also been known to help generate sales. Unfortunately, these ridiculous web pests really get the job done and, until another person thinks of something better, most IMers are going to keep using them.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that most Online marketers should continue to use them. What is the actual worth of an e-mail address that you have only obtained through force? Most of the time that person will elect to opt out of your list once they get their first e-mail. How beneficial can your traffic actually be if nearly all of your visitors click out because they are offended by the pop up? Sure you want to make money, but is this truly the best way? There has to be a better method for someone who aspires to make and build an e-mail list to help them sell things.

The genuine truth is this: if you have an excellent product and you can present it in a good light, you won’t have to use a pop up. Concentrate first on setting up a top quality product so that you won’t have to rely on an annoying pop up to get the job done for you. Write an awesome sales or splash page. Make your subject material and copy so powerful that it will be able to grab your reader’s attention so hard that it never has to let go. The simple fact is that a web Marketer will only find success and profit online if he or she creates something that someone else finds valuable. No pop up banner ad will ever be able to replace the true value of a product.

I hate pop ups. They are always annoying and I have very rarely ever seen one that has offered a valuable product to me. I had no idea that they were actually working though. It seems ridiculous to simply annoy people in to opting in to whatever it is you have to offer. I agree with what you are saying. There has got to be a better way to market your product. Reputation does matter and I think that pop ups have got to give your brand a bad rap. However, there are definitely online marketing strategies to rival this. These include seo, social media, article submission, and the list goes on. One of the key elements is to utilize the resources you have online to not only create awareness but to maintain a valuable reputation. Enough with the pop ups, let’s create something engaging that isn’t going to frustrate you.
